Legal Counsel

Everyday Vacancies is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support on a contract basis. You will handle a wide range of legal matters including contracts, compliance, intellectual property, and corporate governance.

As our Legal Counsel, you will work closely with leadership and various teams to ensure legal compliance, mitigate risks, and support business operations. This contract position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work with a dynamic tech company.

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution
• Admission to practice law in Zimbabwe
• Minimum 6 years of post-qualification legal experience
• Experience in commercial law, contracts, and corporate matters
• Knowledge of Zimbabwean labor law and employment regulations
• Understanding of data protection and privacy laws
• Experience with intellectual property matters
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Outstanding written and verbal communication
• Ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
• Experience advising tech companies or startups is a plus

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements
• Provide legal advice on business operations and strategic initiatives
• Ensure compliance with Zimbabwean laws and regulations
• Handle employment law matters including policies and disputes
• Manage intellectual property protection and registration
• Advise on data protection and privacy compliance
• Support corporate governance and board matters
• Liaise with external legal counsel when necessary
• Conduct legal research on emerging issues
• Develop and maintain legal templates and documentation
• Train staff on legal and compliance matters
• Manage legal risks and implement mitigation strategies
