Requirements
University degree in Law, Management, Administration, Audit, Finance/Accounting, or a related field.
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a similar role, with sound knowledge of Corporate Compliance and compliance risk management.
Understanding of the humanitarian context and experience working in multicultural environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to establish, maintain, and improve processes and confidently use relevant tools and methods.
Experience in training and capacity building, with strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills.
High level of integrity, initiative, self-organization, attention to detail, teamwork, and resilience under pressure.
Excellent command of written and spoken English.
You recognize the growing value of data in your field and are eager to build your awareness and skills to incorporate data-informed approaches into your work.
Willingness and ability to travel within country project areas.
Responsibilities
Manage Corporate Compliance across WHH’s Regional Directorate East & Southern Africa, including fraud and corruption prevention, conflicts of interest, sanctions screening, data protection, safeguarding, and sensitive complaints.
Provide functional leadership to compliance staff and focal points across the Region and ensure implementation of WHH’s global compliance policies.
Implement and strengthen WHH’s Corporate Compliance Management Program and effective “prevent, detect, respond” processes across Country Offices.
Provide Corporate Compliance training to Country Office staff and partners and maintain relevant training records.
Ensure sensitive compliance complaints are channelled through WHH’s global Complaints Response Mechanism.
Initiate, conduct, or oversee investigations of sensitive compliance cases within the Region.
Collaborate closely with Legal & Compliance at Head Office and relevant functions such as HR, IT, Finance, Supply Chain and Project Management.
Advise Regional Management and Country Directors on strategic and operational Corporate Compliance matters.
Represent WHH Compliance in relevant external expert meetings, associations and networks, where appropriate.
