Job Description
1. Background
The Mi. Co. Zim (Microlearning Consortium Zimbabwe) project, a partnership between Up. Leap, the University of Zimbabwe, and Solidar. Med, aims to enhance HCW professional development through digital microlearning on the Up. Leap platform (https://upleap.me). Funded by the Sanofi Global Health Unit and managed by Solidar. Med, the project uses subcontracts to define consortium roles and deliverables. To support implementation, specifically, training approximately 1,300 HCWs and VHWs in Zimbabwe, a project coordinator is needed.
2. Team members
The PC serves as a member of the Zimbabwe programme team and reports directly to the Country Director. This role involves coordination and collaboration with other country projects and their respective teams as needed. The PC also participates in the project steering committee, which comprises both internal and external stakeholders who convene regularly to ensure the achievement of the project's defined objectives. Additionally, the PC maintains close working relationships with the Research and Quality department in Switzerland, which assumes the function of the Mi. Co. Zim Project Manager.
3. Project Coordinator role
The PC is responsible for implementing the Mi. Co. Zim project locally within Zimbabwe, coordinating activities as outlined in the project document. Duties include liaising with partners and authorities, organizing trainings and follow-ups, managing monitoring and evaluation, meeting reporting deadlines, and overseeing budgets and financial reports. The PC also analyses data and proposes solutions to project challenges.

Key Responsibilities:
5.1. Implementation, planning, and budgeting
Ensure the achievement of project objectives as agreed with partners, funders and internal Solidar. Med units (duty of supervision)
Proactive communication and coordination of project progress to steering committee (duty to inform)
Manages implementation plans, activities and budget/expenses
Chairs steering committee meetings and oversees Solidar. Med’s responsibilities in the implementation of activities onsite
Provide support to partners to successfully implement operational activities effectively and efficiently according to Solidar. Med’s and funder’s requirements (duty to support).
Ensures quality and efficiency of project cycle management (PPCM), including planning, budgeting, implementation, monitoring, data collection, strategic reviews, reporting, evaluation, processing, and communication of field experiences.
Ensures that the project activities follow all Solidar. Med country office regulations, processes and procedures
5.2. Monitoring, evaluation, reporting, learning, and advocacy (MERLA)
Ensure that the implementation, impact, and lessons learned of the project is documented through appropriate and professional monitoring systems.
Ensures that monitoring tools and processes are in place to efficiently and effectively report on project progress and findings.
Ensures that all narrative reports produced for partners, donors, or internally, are completed timeously, against approved templates, and in appropriate quality (content, language, grammar, formatting, tables, and graphs)
Ensures and supports the financial department that financial reporting complies with the specifications and accounts of the Solidar. Med Finance and Services department and funder requirements.
Ensures that results and findings are directly feeding into project improvement, and gained knowledge is directly used to improve project quality, effectiveness and efficiency.
5.3. Organizational capacity, human resources, and finance
The PC is responsible for the Solidar. Med implementation budget of the Mi. Co. Zim project
Manages the implementation of the approved budget, monitors expenses
Supports the Solidar. Med Zimbabwe administrative department with financial reporting
5.4. Knowledge Management
Promotes and supports knowledge management initiatives around the project’s progress, results and impact.
Ensures information is shared flawlessly among all stakeholders and complies with demands from Solidar. Med’s communication and/or fundraising departments
The PC supports the Country Director in local policy dialogue around the project’s objectives and findings
Requirements
6.1. Qualifications
Promotes and supports knowledge management initiatives around the project’s progress, results and impact.
Registered Nurse or Clinical Officer with a valid practising certificate in Zimbabwe
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Clinical Sciences, Health Sciences, Health Education, or a related field
Postgraduate training in Public Health, Project Management, Digital Health, or Health Systems is an added advantage
