Job Description: Loans Officer – Microfinance Company

Key Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
• Evaluate and process loan applications from individuals and small businesses, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct client interviews and credit assessments to determine loan eligibility and risk.
• Prepare and present loan proposals and documentation for approval.
• Monitor loan repayments and follow up on overdue accounts to minimize defaults.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date loan records and client files.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports related to loan performance.
• Support the Accountant with general administrative duties, including filing, data entry, and correspondence.
• Provide excellent customer service and build strong relationships with clients.
• Collaborate closely with the small team to ensure operational efficiency and support company growth.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills
• Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in microfinance, banking, lending, or a related financial services role.
• Strong understanding of credit assessment and loan management principles.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage clients professionally.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and basic accounting software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
