JOB OPPORTUNITYThe Zambia Institute of Mass Communication (ZAMCOM) was established under the ZAMCOM Act of Parliament of 1996 to provide Communications and Media training and production services.ZAMCOM is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill in the following position;HEAD – FINANCEReporting to Executive Director
Requirements
• Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Masters – MBA Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a trust or institutional environment.
• Full professional qualification in CA Zambia ACCA, CIMA, ZICA
• Membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) is mandatory.Key Skills and Competences RequiredTechnical Skills:

Responsibilities
To overseeing the financial health of the institute by managing accounting and financial processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, optimizing financial performance, and providing strategic financial guidance to support institutional goals.
• Develop and implement financial strategies in alignment with the institute’s goals.
• Provides financial forecasts and budgeting support to management.
• Prepare and manage the institute’s annual budget.
• Monitor expenditure against budgets and provide financial reports.
• Implement cost control measures to enhance financial sustainability.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Maintain an effective accounting system in compliance with local and international standards.
• Supervise the preparation of financial audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Ensure effective management of receivables and payables.
• Monitor cash flows and maintain liquidity for smooth operations.
• Oversee tuition and other revenue collection processes.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
• Identify financial risks and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Ensure proper asset management, including depreciation schedules and maintenance records.
• Supervise finance personnel and promote professional development.
• Ensure effective delegation and coordination of finance team activities.
