Job Description
Responsible for supervising of Harvester Operators and coordinating all harvesting activities during harvesting of cane. To perform any other Responsibilities as assigned by the superior.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervising infield harvesting operations.
• Allocating harvester field cutting positions.
• Allocates trucks to harvesters.
• Approves safe parking positions for trucks and bakkies.
• Reporting infield machine breakdowns.
• Monitoring cane losses by harvester operators.
• Monitoring proper cleaning and disinfection of harvesters.
• Overseeing if the harvesting environment is danger free and all necessary safety precautions are in place all the time.
• Ensuring the correct number of fire extinguishers is within range all the time.
• Monitoring unnecessary delays by Harvester Operators and Howo Drivers that may starve the Mill.
• Consistent communication with mill gate supervisors to avoid delays by truck drivers and to improve production.
Requirements
• At least 5 O’ Levels including English Language.
• Good interpersonal Skills.
• Ability to work under no supervision.
• Clean class 4 Drivers Licence – added advantage.
• At least 3 years’ Experience in a similar environment, at a supervisory level is an added advantage.
