Job Title: Junior Surveyor
Reports to: Senior Surveyor

Key Customers: Area Managers, Section Managers, Small Scale Growers, Cane Haulage Contractors, Irrigation Foremen, etc
Location: XinavanePurpose of the Position:
• To provide land surveying services effectively, cost efficiently and to expected quality and standards on the Xinavane Estate including Out growers, i.e., mainly to collect, configure, and supply survey data for engineering purposes using up to update technology and present the data in required format for engineering designs which are done in consultation with engineers.

Requirements
• Degree in Surveying/Civil Engineering, or related fields.Experience
• 2 years of practical surveying ExperiencePersonal and Interpersonal Skills
• Clear knowledge of GPS and Total Station usage
• Knowledge of Arc. Map/Arc. View (GIS), Multi. Plane, and Model Maker will be an added advantage.
• Thorough knowledge and Experience of best practices in the field

Carry our Topographic Surveys to produce Topographic Maps
• Fix control station by levelling.
• Carry out taches and grid surveys to establish detail.
• Measure and produce accurate field areas.
• Produce contour maps and digital terrain models using the available software e.g. Arc View, GIS, etc.
Carry out Engineering Surveys, i.e., canal earthworks, site survey, drainage
• Carry out long section surveys for canals, drainage, etc and plot long sections.
• Carry out site surveys on construction sites, plot maps and detail drawing for structures.
• Set out and supervise excavation and cleaning of new and existing drainage respectively.
C2 General Beacons
• Search, construct and fix survey beacons and benchmarks by traversing and levelling under supervision of an artisan surveyor.
• Produce coordinate files for infrastructure for incorporation into GIS records.
Setting out for Drainage & Roads/Earth Feeders on Land Prep Fields
• Set out subsurface and surface drains as per approved design.
• Set out and supervise roads, earth feeders and tail drains in land preparation fields.
• Supervise and monitor opening of earth feeders
Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management
• Ensure implementation and compliance to SHEQ policies and procedures on his working site.
Management of Subordinates & Survey Equipment
• Assist survey assistants/helpers in carrying out their work.
• Coordinate all survey work on site.
• Keep, update, and manage survey equipment inventory.
• Ensure that survey equipment is kept safe, cleaned and in good working conditions
