Boarding Master

Silveira High School is looking for a reliable and experienced Boarding Master who will be in charge of caring for the welfare, safety and academic progress of boarders, as well as ensuring the smooth operation of the boarding house. Applicants are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above post:

A minimum of five (5) Ordinary level subjects including English Language

Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the well
• being of students, providing support, guidance and advice. Acting in loco parents, meaning taking on a parental role during the school year.
• Helping learners from different backgrounds and cultures to settle into the school and assist with the orientation of new students and their families.
• Identify and respond to bullying.
• Adhering and ensuring compliance with the school’s Child Safeguarding policy at all times.
• Reporting actual or any potential risks to the safety or welfare of learners in the boarding facility to the school management.
• Helping with supervision of learners at meals, bedtime and waking up.
• Responsible for maintaining order and ensuring the safety of students, addressing disciplinary issues and implementing security measures.
• Providing academic support and having an oversight of academic tasks, such as study periods, and ensure students are working quietly during those times.
• Overseeing the running of the boarding house, ensuring it is a safe, clean and comfortable environment for students. This includes managing schedules, coordinating activities, and addressing logistical needs.
