Safety Officer Assistant

Kamativi Mining Company, a preeminent leader in sustainable mining operations, is in search of a highly motivated and meticulous Safety Officer Assistant to join our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) team. This position is pivotal in facilitating the execution of our safety management systems and ensuring adherence to both national and international mining safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily safety inspections and perform comprehensive hazard identification audits across operational sites.
• Assist in the formulation and exccution of site
• specific safety protocols.
• Maintain meticulous records of safety incidents, near
• misses, and corrective actions taken.
• Support the Safcty Officer in conducting thorough root cause analyses for all reported incidents.
• Facilitate cogaging toolbox talks and comprehensive safety induction programs for newly hired employees and contractors.
• Monitor adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) regulations and mining safety procedures.
• Participate actively in emergency response planning and the execution of drills.
• Prepare detailed monthly safety performance reports for management review.

Experience & Requirements
• Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (equivalent certification preferred)
• A minimum of two years in a safety
• oriented role within the mining, construction, or heavy industry sectors
• Proven expertise in Zimbabwean Mining Safety Regulations (MSR)
• Exceptional robust analytical Skills, written and verbal communication capabilities
• Certification in Risk Assessment or Incident Investigation
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 standards
