Farm Manager

Africa University intends to implement a strategic transformation of its farm. The goal is to build a sustainable, innovative, and scalable agricultural enterprise that serves as a model for Education, food production, and community engagement. Reporting to the Program Manager, the incumbent will serve in the capacity as Farm Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for the operational leadership, technical oversight, and strategic execution of activities across poultry, piggery, field crops, and horticulture. The Farm Manager will ensure effective use of resources, compliance with regulations, and achievement of productivity and profitability targets

Applicants should possess a minimum of a National Diploma in Agriculture, Agribusiness or Animal Science from a recognised Agricultural College or Institution
Minimum 5 years of Experience managing commercial
• scale mixed farms.
Strong Experience in poultry, piggery, field crop, and horticulture systems.
A Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Agriculture will be an added advantage.
Familiarity with farm management software and record keeping.
Experience in sustainable agriculture or climate
• smart practices is a further added advantage.
Proven leadership and staff supervision Skills.
Experience working within a university or research
• based environment is preferred.
Knowledge of maintenance of farm machinery and equipment.
A clean class 4 driver’s licence
