Our Journey

From a compassionate WhatsApp group to a movement that's transforming lives across Zimbabwe

Everyday Vacancies is more than just a job platform — it's a movement born out of compassion, community, and a desire to uplift lives through access to opportunity.

It all began on April 18, 2023, a date chosen intentionally to coincide with Zimbabwe's Independence Day. Just as the nation once gained its freedom, Everyday Vacancies was created to help people gain their own kind of independence — freedom from unemployment, hopelessness, and misinformation.

The journey started humbly, as a WhatsApp group. It was created after seeing countless people being scammed in their desperate search for jobs, and many others simply unaware of how to apply or where to begin in today's digital-first job market. Everyday Vacancies was launched with one simple mission: to bring opportunities closer to those who need them most — in a language they understand, and on platforms they can access.

Recognizing that many lacked data or the know-how to navigate job sites, we began by sharing curated opportunities directly in WhatsApp, ensuring that even those without internet bundles could see what was available. It quickly became a lifeline for people across Zimbabwe — from graduates to experienced workers, from remote areas to urban centers.

But the platform's vision went beyond just listing jobs. From day one, Everyday Vacancies has advocated for self-reliance and entrepreneurship. A job can be a good start, but it's not the only way to survive or thrive. That's why we've consistently encouraged members to explore side hustles, small business ideas, and creative ways to earn and grow.

As the platform grew in reach and impact, so did its mission. We partnered with mental health awareness organizations to empower individuals not just economically, but emotionally and socially. Through these partnerships, we've hosted free therapy sessions, workshops, and training programs, offering support to disadvantaged groups — including women facing domestic abuse, youths struggling with unemployment, and anyone who just needed guidance.

What began as a WhatsApp group has now evolved into a multi-platform service — reaching people via Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and a web app — all while remaining 100% free in 2025. Our platform now features hundreds of active job listings, career tips, skills development resources, and motivational content to help people not just find jobs, but build lives of purpose.

Everyday Vacancies is not a company — it's a community platform built on hope, trust, and shared growth. We believe that everyone deserves access to opportunities, regardless of their background, network, or resources. Our success is measured not in traffic or revenue, but in stories — stories of people who landed jobs, started businesses, improved their mental health, or simply began to believe in themselves again.

Join us as we continue to break down barriers and build bridges — helping everyday people discover their potential and rewrite their futures.
